Dr. Robison began his outpatient primary mental health practice in Cape Girardeau in 1997. As a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, Dr. Robison completed an internship in pediatrics at The University of Utah’s Primary Children’s Hospital. He went on to complete his residency in psychiatry at the University of Louisville, and his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Bingham Clinic in Louisville, Kentucky. He has maintained his board certification in general adult and child and adolescent psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

Dr. Robison brings a primary care approach to mental health services with the goal of developing long-term therapeutic relationships with each of his patients and their families.

Dr. Robison provides comprehensive assessment and diagnostic services. He has extensive experience with mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, Autism, trauma-related issues, and personality disorders. He also provides ongoing treatment and support including medication management, and individual, couples, and family therapy. Family systems therapy is Dr. Robison’s predominant theoretical background. He has had extensive training, including several years of live family therapy supervision. He has also trained in and provides Brief Dynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Dr. Robison had the privilege of training at the University of Louisville, which has a long history of excellence in psychiatric training. The University of Louisville Department of Psychiatry was unique in that it had a Department of Pastoral Care and Counseling as a part of its comprehensive programs. Within this department, Dr. Robison was able to not only develop excellence in an array of treatment modalities, but explore faith and spirituality in the therapeutic process in a professional and academically rigorous setting.
