- Neurofeedback, also referred to as neurotherapy, is a noninvasive, painless, method of treatment used to train the brain to self-regulate. It does not require the use of any drugs or medications. It is being offered as an alternative to or in addition to other standard treatments for anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, depression, ADHD, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, Post-Concussion Syndrome, high functioning Autism as well as migraine and headache management. Neurofeedback therapy may also be used to enhance peak performance including attention, academic testing, reading comprehension, math skills, and mood. Through the use of an EEG (electroencephalogram) device, the brain learns to produce the proper amount and types of brain waves. As a result, the brain learns to function in a healthier and more balanced manner.
